Blakus - PocketBlakus

pocketBlakus is a sampled, expressive solo cello virtual instrument for Kontakt 4.2.4 or higher (v.1.6). There is also a version available for HALion (v.1.5).

pocketBlakus will work for a limited time only in the free Kontakt Player (all Kontakt libraries which don't need to be activated through N.I.'s Service Center have this restriction: they are not really "Kontakt Player-compatible" - this is a licensing thing between instrument developers, and Native Instruments).

pocketBlakus is licensed to you for commercial and non-commercial use; but you may not use it to create any other sample instrument or library of any kind without Blakus' express consent. This instrument is the result of a collaboration between multiple authors who have generously shared their work with the composers/musicians community at However, the audio recordings and scripts in this software remain their intellectual property.

Features at a glance (Kontakt version)
  •  Expressive sustains with progressive vibrato
  •  Expressive sustains triggered by playing velocities >90
  •  Simulated legato patch - using SIPS scripts. Easily customizeable.
  •  Basic release samples & mod control

HG Fortune - The Dreammachine 3

This is a new and completely rebuilt version of The Dreammachine featuring a largely increased functionality. Still it is a machine intended for slow motion providing complex evolving athmospheres and soundscapes. The concept of the Dreammachine is based on three synthlayers with slow wavesequencing and soundmodulations.

There are three parts: Bottom/Low (or Bass), Back/Mid (or Pad) and Sparkle/High for three basic layers of sound plus a OneShot part to throw in some additional highlights such as vocal phrases, percussive sounds or Sfx. Each part has got a 16 step sequencer for waveforms to be played in succession with the One Shot part having 32 steps. The Note sequencer has an option to play even duophonic in adding a 2nd note selectable in 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 semitones up. Also Back/Mid and Sparkle Parts can be set in semitones from -12 to +12.

All in all you got very flexible means to set up sophisticated complex sound layers. For most convenience the wave names are not only displayed at each seq step but also selectable from popup menus showing the names. And of course the famous HGFortune Lazy buttons are also present at each section or part (Pro version only) as small buttons marked with L ;-)

HG Fortune - Astral Dreamer

Astral Dreamer on new ways for the special sound of HGFortune synthesizers!
There are dedicated routing options starting right at the oscillators which can be routed to one of the two filters, a flanger, or direct to the VCA.

So you can have a dedicated soundmodifier for each oscillator allowing a wide variety of multicoloured sounds within a single patch very much like multilayered sounds. Each oscillator has got an Additional Harmonics Shaper (AHS) to enrich sound in generating shapeable upper harmonics from the selected wave.
The character of this additional sound ranges from rich choruslike to metallic sounds and can be mixed - also via modulation - to the original wave.

The new waveset coming with Astral Dreamer does contain carefully processed waves to provide a wide variety of soundsources: Synth waves from real analog, virtual analog and digital synths, complex waveforms, soundscapes (mostly image generated sounds), plus some XFx sounds. Besides the routing possibilities there are a lot of modulation options to shape the sound into some intricate motion. And the straightforward GUI provides instant access to all controls for quick editing and tweaking to shape your sound.

Features (based on Pro version):

  • 3 PCM wave Oscillators each with 128 waves plus Additional Harmonics Shaper

  • 1 x 24 dB resonant Lowpass filter with ADSR EG and 4 channel mod mixer
  • 1 x 12 dB resonant Lo, Hi or Bandpass filter with ADSR EG and 4 channel mod mixer
  • Filter Routing: parallel or serial possible
  • 1 x Flanger
  • Mod sources:
  • 2 Aux ADSR EG (3 & 4)
  • 3 bpm synced LFO
  • 1 bpm synced Sample & Hold
  • 1 bpm synced double LFO with phase shifting
